Happy Presidents Day, everyone! Today we celebrate the inspiring leadership of America’s presidents—from George Washington and Abraham Lincoln to those who have followed in their footsteps. Originally established to honor George Washington’s birthday, this day has evolved into a time to reflect on the legacy and vision of all our nation’s leaders. Whether you’re taking a well-deserved break or reflecting on history, let’s appreciate the guiding principles that have shaped our country. Enjoy the day and celebrate the spirit of leadership! 💙🤍♥️

OUR BLACK HISTORY
Thanks to Margaret Henderson Spurlock for sharing this photo of the Sunny South Jubilee Quartette. Second from the left is Ms. Spurlock’s grandfather Richard Henderson. The quartette made history as the first African American group to be broadcast by local radio station KNET. The photo was taken in 1943.

Join me and House Public Education Chairman Brad Buckley on February 28 for an important conversation about the future of education in Texas. He will be laying out his school choice and public education funding bills, cutting through the noise to bring you the truth and facts about what’s at stake. We look forward to answering your questions, addressing your concerns, and sharing the real story on education policy in Texas. All are welcome!--Representative Harris
