On Monday, April 8, Palestine be a location to view a deep partial eclipse of the sun. This is an historic event, and Palestine ISD is excited to share this educational opportunity with our students!
- All students and staff will receive eclipse viewing glasses provided by the District
- Students will receive safety training on how to properly view the eclipse prior to the event.
-Parents may check their student out of school in the window from 9:45-12:30 in order to
experience the eclipse with their child .
- Out of an abundance of caution, all campuses will be closed to visitors from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
on Monday, April 8.
- For their safety, PISD’s youngest students, Pre-K will participate in indoor eclipse activities
-K-6 Grade parents will be notified by their child’s teacher to opt in/out of the eclipse viewing.
-PJH and PHS parents may call their respective campuses to have your student opt out of viewing the eclipse.
