After viewing a documentary clip about the Deep Water Horizon Oil spill, Algebra 2 Honors students simulated oil spills with cheerios and collected data. The goal was to fit a square root function to the data to determine how wide an oil spill would be as well as determine how many gallons of oil would cause a mile wide spill.
