Ladycats JV (12-4-1, 4-0 in District) traveled to Westwood on Tuesday March 5, 2024 winning by a score of 6-0.
Ellie Benitez led the charge for the Ladycats with some fantastic goals for a first half hat trick. Benitez scored her first two goals in similar fashion, finishing off practiced set pieces from corner kicks, both assisted by Ana Ibarra. Benitez would then complete her hat trick from a free kick just behind the 25 yard line over the outstretched arms of the goalkeeper. Kristal Ucelo added two goals to the scoresheet, one fast break assisted by Rebecca Campa, and the other from a cross by Yukari Sanchez. The Ladycats would lead 5-0 at the break.
Jocelyn Mancera scored the lone goal of the second half, stealing the ball near midfield, dribbling past the entire defense, and finishing off her own rebound after an initial save from the goalkeeper. Ladycats JV win 6-0! Jayleigh Arriaga and Kristal Ucelo split the clean sheet with the help of defenders Ellie Benitez, Kinley Astramovich, Jennifer Oscoy, Ariana Martinez, Bailey Willeford, Esther Mugambi, Ana Ibarra, Evelyn Morales, and Esmeralda Escobedo.
Ladycats JV travel to Jacksonville on March 15, 2024 at 5 pm for their season finale with a chance to claim the District Championship. Varsity to follow at 6:30. Thank you for your support!
