Principal - Grace Mancilla
My name is Grace Mancilla and it is a great pleasure to introduce myself as the new principal of A.M. Story Intermediate. I am honored to have been selected to join the great staff at Story. I look forward to working with a dynamic staff, dedicated parents and involved community members. Most of all, I look forward to working with our students and continuing the outstanding work already in place at A.M. Story Intermediate.
Many of you will know me from the time your students were at Southside. I am returning back to Story where I first started my administrative career in 2012 as an Assistant Principal. This is my 26th year in education with the last five years serving as Principal at Southside Elementary.
You can expect that I will work diligently with teachers to ensure our students are exposed to curriculum and instruction that is both challenging and engaging. As part of my regular routine once school begins, you will find me out and about on campus during morning arrivals, afternoon dismissals, and throughout the day. I look forward to starting this new and exciting year together.
Associate Principal - Cody Tunstall
My name is Cody Tunstall and I am the Associate Principal for A.M. Story Intermediate.
This is my 19th year in education, all of which I have spent serving the students and staff of Palestine I.S.D. I have held many positions during my time with the district including teacher, coach, coordinator, and administrator.
This is my second stint as an administrator on the Story campus. I am happy to say that I am also the parent of two Story Lions, Cohen (Class of 2031) and Cooper (Class of 2032).
I look forward to making this a memorable time and place for all our staff, students, and stakeholders by helping lead this campus to becoming the best in the district as we grow socially, emotionally, and most importantly, academically.
It is my honor to continue serving at A.M. Story Intermediate and Palestine I.S.D.
Assistant Principal - Leslie Hooe
My name is Leslie Hooe and I am an alumni of Palestine High School, class of 1996. I began my career in Las Vegas, teaching music to Kindergarten - 5th grade students. While there, I opened two new schools, and worked as a master teacher with UNLV.
Many years and career achievements later, my family and I returned to Palestine ISD, where I worked as the High School and Junior High Choir Director.
In 2022, I had the privilege of going back into administration and worked as an Assistant Principal for Grapeland ISD.
This school year I am honored to return to Palestine I.S.D and serve as an Assistant Principal of A.M. Story Intermediate.
I have great expectations for our students and community and look forward to an amazing 2023-2024 school year!
Assistant Principal - Randall Reeves
My name is Randall Reeves and I am serving as the 6th grade AP at Story Intermediate. I am in my 13th year in education, and third year as an administrator. I previously served as the Assistant Principal at Northside Primary, and taught secondary math at Palestine High School, where I coached varsity baseball and freshmen football.
I'm married to Erica Reeves, and we have two student daughters, Keeli and Kori. I'm excited to be working with such a hard working and devoted admin team and to have the opportunity to serve the staff, students, and community at Story Intermediate School.
My goal is to build a strong work ethic, commitment to learning, and productive collaboration among the Story family through consistency, effective communication, and a safe and structured learning environment.
