PHS Unified Buddies
Unified Buddies is a club organization that is open to all students. The purpose is to bring students into a unified setting and be able to learn from each other while serving the community. We work as a TEAM to serve each other, our school and community. We offer peer mentoring, service and transition encouragement to one another. We meet twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesday at 7:30am or 3:50pm in the Library.
Wildcat Olympians
Palestine ISD is committed to providing year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of sports for children and young adults with special abilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with other families, Wildcat Olympians and the community.
Wildcat Olympics focuses on developing fundamental motor tracking and eye-hand coordination through physical play. This participation-based program also introduces the child to the world of sports and begins to prepare them for competition. Our Olympians will gain more than just the physical benefits, Wildcat Olympics will foster relationships with typically developing peer buddies to facilitate a school culture of appreciation, understanding, and unity. Our athletes and buddies have been practicing throughout the year to help prepare our Wildcat Olympians. Our Wildcat Olympians currently participate in Track-and-Field and Basketball competitions.
