Palestine ISD School Board
Duties of the School Board:
  1. The role of the Palestine ISD board is to govern the independent school district, as a body corporate, and shall oversee the management of the district. TEC 11.051(a)
  2. Examples of the school board duties include: adopt goals and policies of the district and evaluate the results of those polices.
  3. The role of the Palestine ISD superintendent is be the educational leader and chief executive officer of the school district TEC 11.201 (a)
  4. Examples of the superintendent’s duties are the developing and implementing plans and monitoring the progress of those plans.
The PISD School Board meets on the Third Monday of each month at 6:00pm for Closed Session, then 7:00pm for its Open Session in the board room, 1007 E. Park Avenue.
Brandon Sheeley
Brandon Sheeley, President
Brandon Sheeley was elected to the PISD Board of Trustees in May 2015. He was born and raised in Anderson County, Texas, and graduated from Frankston High School in 1990. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1994, and earned his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Management from Sam Houston State University in 1998. He has worked in Probation since 1994 and is currently the Supervisor and Substance Abuse Officer for the Houston County Community Supervision and Corrections Department. He is a licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and Certified Anger Resolution Therapist.   Brandon attends the Court Drive Church of Christ where he has served as a deacon for 10 years and actively teaches classes. He has been to Zimbabwe four times to teach and help with the Medical Mission efforts, most recently in June 2015. He and his wife, Angela, have two sons; Lucas, a sophomore at Palestine High School and Seth, a 7th grader at Palestine Junior High. He has served as Band Booster President for the Palestine Wildcat High School Band, and also assists with the Palestine High School tennis team. 
Dyna Tutt
Dyna Tutt, Vice President
Dyna Tutt was elected to the PISD Board of Trustees in 2003. She has served two years as board president and twice as vice president. She has served on the policy committee for several years. Dyna received her Post Graduate Nursing Education Certificate in 2007. She received MS in Allied Health in 1999 and BSN in 1990 from UT at Tyler. She received her ADN from El Centro College in Dallas in 1980 and LVN from TVCC in 1975. She attended Elkhart School District prior to college. She is currently employed as a Nursing Instructor at UT at Tyler, Palestine Campus. She is also a certified Critical Care Nurse.
    Dyna is involved in the community through Nurse Christian Fellowship at UT at Tyler, Palestine campus, member of NAACP and Congo Truck Club. Life long member of the Beulah Baptist Church in Elkhart, currently serving as president of usher board and vice president of finance. She has two daughters, both are graduates of PISD. Charlotte is in real estate and apartment management in Austin, and husband Chris lease’s apartments. Felecia graduated from the UT at Tyler, spring 2008. Two granddaughters Lauren and Labrina.
Michael Bennett
Michael Bennett, Secretary
Michael Bennett was elected to the School Board in 2005. He has served three times as Board President. He has also served as Board Vice President. Bennett graduated from Palestine High School with honors in 1979, and graduated from Texas A&M in 1983 with an Agriculture Education Degree. Bennett is the manager of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC in Palestine, and an active deacon at Norwood Heights Baptist Church. He and his wife, Stacy, have a daughter, Emma, who attends Palestine High School.
Janie Sepulveda
Janie Sepulveda
Janie Sepulveda was appointed to the PISD Board of Trustees in August 2008. She was re-elected to her seat in May 2010. She was born and raised in Luling, Texas, and graduated from Luling High School. After graduation and marriage, she and her husband, Arthur, relocated to Palestine in 1963. In Palestine, she attended Nixon Business College for one year and TVCC for two years. Janie was employed by PISD from 1972 until she retired in 2001. She is the mother of three sons, Arty, Carlos, and Marcos. All of her sons are PISD graduates. Janie is involved in the community in many areas and has been for many years. She is currently the parish secretary for Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Stanley Sololowski
Stanley Sokolowski
Stanley Sokolowski was elected to the PISD Board of Trustees in May 2011. Born and raised in Jackson, Missouri, Stanley graduated from Jackson High School in 1988. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri in 1992. In 1995, he received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston. Stanley has been assistant district attorney with the Anderson County District Attorney's Office since 2003 where he is currently the 1stAssistant. Prior to working with Anderson County, Stanley has worked in Houston and Brownsville. Stanley attends Grace Bible Church. He has coached football, t-ball, soccer and basketball. Stanley and his wife Ann have two children: Hayden, a sixth-grader at Story Intermediate and Reagan, a third-grader at Southside Elementary.
Jeffrey Schwab
Jeffrey Schwab
Jeffrey Schwab was born and raised in Palestine. He graduated from Palestine High School in 2005 where he was a member of the state golf team. He graduated from the University of Texas – Tyler in 2009 with a degree in finance. He is Vice President of 5 J Oilfield Services and has served on the William School Scholarship Board Since 2014. He and his wife Courtney were married in September 2016 and they have one son. He was elected to the school board in 2015.
Kurt Herrington
Kurt Herrington
Kurt Herrington was elected to the P.I.S.D. Board in May 2016.  Kurt was raised in Palestine and graduated from Palestine High School in 1998.  Kurt graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2003.  He also has an Associate degree of Applied Sciences from the Dallas Funeral Institute and is a licensed Mortician in the State of Texas.  Kurt is the President of Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home and Land of Memory Cemetery in Palestine.  He is a member of the Rotary Club of Palestine and on the Building & Standards Committee for the City of Palestine.  He and his wife Christi of 11 years have three boys who attend and will soon attend P.I.S.D. schools.
