Kurt Herrington, Vice President
Kurt Herrington was elected to the P.I.S.D. Board in May 2016. Kurt was raised in Palestine and graduated from Palestine High School in 1998. Kurt graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2003. He also has an Associate degree of Applied Sciences from the Dallas Funeral Institute and is a licensed Mortician in the State of Texas. Kurt is the President of Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home and Land of Memory Cemetery in Palestine. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Palestine and on the Building & Standards Committee for the City of Palestine. He and his wife Christi of 11 years have three boys who attend and will soon attend P.I.S.D. schools.
Stanley Sokolowski was elected to the PISD Board of Trustees
in May 2011. Born and raised in Jackson, Missouri, Stanley graduated from
Jackson High School in 1988. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration from the University of Missouri in 1992. In 1995, he received
his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston. Stanley and his
family moved to Palestine in 2003. In January of 2015, Stanley opened his
own law office. Stanley has previously worked for the Anderson County
District Attorney’s Office, the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office and a
Justice of the Peace in Harris County. Stanley and his family are active
members of 1st Baptist Church-Palestine. Stanley has coached
youth softball, football, t-ball, soccer and basketball. Stanley and his wife
Ann have two children: Hayden, a recent graduate of Palestine High School and
Reagan, who is currently attending Palestine High School. Stanley and Ann
are also members of the Palestine Band Boosters.
Brandon Sheeley was elected to the PISD Board of Trustees in May 2015. He was born and raised in Anderson County, Texas, and graduated from Frankston High School in 1990. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1994, and earned his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Management from Sam Houston State University in 1998. He has worked in Probation since 1994 and is currently the Director of the Cherokee County Community Supervision and Corrections Department. He is a licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and Certified Anger Resolution Therapist. Brandon attends the Court Drive Church of Christ where he has served as an Elder for 2 years and actively teaches adult and youth classes. He and his wife, Angela, have two sons; Lucas, a graduateof Palestine High School and Seth, a Senior at Palestine High School. He has served as Band Booster President for the Palestine Wildcat High School Band, and also assists with the Palestine High School tennis team.
